Zenna B. Moore Jackson, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully departed this world on August 29, 2026, after bravely facing a lengthy illness. Born on July 2, 1964, in Mineola, New York, Zenna was a beacon of compassion and warmth throughout her 62 years of life. Zenna was the cherished daughter of Valorie J. Miller and the late Leonard Moore. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Mark D. Jackson, Sr., with whom she shared a deep bond. Affectionately calling each other "Sweetie," they built a beautiful life together in Farmville, Virginia, after marrying on June 26, 2021. Zenna was also preceded in death by her father, Leonard Moore; her brother, Leonard (Lenny) Moore, Jr.; her grandparents, Yvonne Ward, Lucious Carter, and Beatrice Chapman. Her surviving family includes her devoted mother, Valorie J. Miller; her son, Brett Harleston, and his partner, Stephanie Marshall; her daughter, Christine Cue, and her wife, LaTasha Cue. She also leaves behind a loving extended family consisting of step-sons Thomas Jones, Jr., Antonio Jones, Jordan Jones, J'Michael Jones, Darius Jones, Mark Jackson, Jr., Markel Jackson, LaQuan Jackson, and Thomas Jackson. Zenna was a proud grandmother to Savannah Harleston, Brett Harleston, Ty'Mier Jones, Khalia Jones, and Dylan Lonas. Zenna's siblings, Terrance Lightfoot and his wife Lisa, Ali Moore, and Latressa Moore, along with her nieces and nephews Tekwan Lightfoot, T'Ana Lightfoot, Rakim Moore, Marquis Moore, Trina Dennis, Tristian Lightfoot, LiYah Dennis, and Logan Dennis, will forever hold her memory dear. Zenna graduated from Freeport High School in New York and dedicated her life to caring for others. Her career as a caregiver was a testament to her generous spirit and her innate desire to help those in need. Despite battling back problems that eventually prevented her from continuing her work, Zenna's kindness never wavered. A woman of faith, Zenna was a devoted member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, where she found comfort and community. Even when her illness kept her from attending services, her faith remained strong. Zenna's hobbies included crocheting, a craft that brought her much joy, and cheering on her favorite football team, the Philadelphia Eagles. A service to honor Zenna's life will be held on September 12, 2026, from 11:00 AM until noon at Carl U Eggleston Funeral Home, located at 914 South Main Street, Farmville, VA 23901. Zenna B. Moore Jackson's legacy of love, resilience, and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her warmth and kindness will be deeply missed, and her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends.
