Zachary Dayne Hillenbrand
May 30, 2000 — April 23, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Zachary Dayne Hillenbrand, who left this world far too soon on April 23, 2026, at the age of 25. Born on May 30, 2000, in the close-knit community of Coldwater, Mississippi.
Zach was the cherished son of John Joseph Hillenbrand Jr. and the late Anita Lynn Hillenbrand. He was a devoted brother to Taylor Hillenbrand and a beloved family member to an extensive network of aunts, uncles, cousins, and his grandmother, Flora Hunsucker.
He was predeceased in death by his mother Anita, his grandfather J.D. Hunsucker, his uncle Jeff Abeln, his aunt Carol Swanson, and his grandparents Barbara and John Hillenbrand. Zach's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his surviving family, including his father John and Shirley Carson, along with aunts Laura Madsen, Cathy Conner, Janice Abeln, Michael and Natasha Rhoda, and Bob and Dana Lyle.
A proud graduate of Christian Brothers High School, Zach pursued higher education at the University of Mississippi, where he was a recipient of a Bio Med scholarship. His love for music saw him playing the saxophone in the band at both his high school and university, a testament to his talent and passion. Known for his quick wit and intelligence, he could engage in any topic of conversation with clear knowledge and understanding of the topic.
Professionally, Zach worked as Heavy Package handler at FedEx, worked as a manager at Marco's Pizza in Tupelo, where his leadership skills endeared him to both colleagues and customers alike. Outside of work, Zach found joy in the digital world as an avid gamer and cherished his moments on the golf course with his father, sharing laughter and creating lasting memories.
A service celebrating Zach's life will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. with a small service at 11:00 at the Collierville Funeral Home, located at 3863 Bailey Station Rd, Collierville, TN. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring the life Zach led.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Suicide Prevention Center in Zach's memory. As we reflect on Zach's life, the family wishes to extend a heartfelt message: "If you or someone you know is struggling with suicide, please reach out to the Suicide & Crisis Line by dialing 988."
Zachary Dayne Hillenbrand will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his laughter, and the love he shared with all those around him. Rest in peace, dear Zach. You will be forever cherished and never forgotten.
