With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Zachariah Richard Anthony Story, who left us far too soon at the tender age of 18. Born on March 28, 2008, in Sanford, Florida, Zachariah passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, in Lake Park, Georgia, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family. Zachariah was the cherished son of Richard and Sarah Story, and he brought immense joy and pride to everyone who knew him. From a young age, Zachariah demonstrated a remarkable blend of determination, talent, and kindness. He was a bright light in the lives of those around him, leaving a lasting impact through his actions and passions. Zachariah's dedication to excellence was evident in his involvement with the American Taekwondo Association, where he achieved the esteemed rank of a third-degree black belt. His discipline and strength in martial arts mirrored his approach to life—one filled with perseverance and grace. A gifted musician, Zachariah found his harmony in the world of music. As a member of the Lowndes High Georgia Bridgemen, he played brass instruments with exceptional skill, specializing in mellophone, French horn, and trumpet. His music was a reflection of his vibrant spirit, and his performances resonated with all who had the privilege of listening. Zachariah's life, although brief, was filled with love and meaningful relationships. He is survived by his devoted parents, Richard and Sarah; his beloved sister, Alice; and his girlfriend, Bailey, who was his confidante and source of joy. He leaves behind his grandmother, Roxanne Ruben, who cherished him dearly, as well as his Aunt and Uncle, Chad and Toni Ruben, Jennifer and Jake Dunn, and Brandon Ruben, who shared countless cherished memories with him. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Valerie Maisch, and great-grandmother, Rosemarie Ruben, who have surely welcomed him with open arms into their eternal embrace. A service to celebrate Zachariah's life will be held on April 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Lake Park. Family, friends, and all whose lives Zachariah touched are invited to join in commemorating a life that, though short, was filled with immeasurable love and accomplishment. As we gather to honor Zachariah's memory, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives and the legacy of kindness and excellence he leaves behind. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will forever remain in our hearts, guiding us with the warmth of his smile and the echo of his laughter. Rest in peace, dear Zachariah. You will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.
