It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Yvonne Marie Robinson on August 15, 2026. Born on July 7, 1953, in Omaha, Nebraska, Yvonne was a beloved daughter of Fay and William "Billy" Matthews. She touched the lives of many with her warmth, laughter, and unwavering spirit.
Yvonne's journey in life was marked by her vibrant energy and deep love for her family. She was known affectionately by many as "Granny's Baby" and "GG," terms that reflect the boundless affection she shared with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was the center of her universe, and she found immense joy in being surrounded by those she loved.
A proud graduate of Thee Flint Northern High School, Yvonne began her professional journey at El Rancho of Flint. With a determined spirit, she went on to devote 25 years of dedicated service to General Motors, where she was known for her hard work and infectious sense of fun. After a fulfilling career, she retired in 2001, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and camaraderie.
Yvonne was predeceased by her beloved mother, Fay Louise Matthews, and her brothers, Tobias "Toby" Lee and Kevin Matthews. She is survived by her loving children, Xylona Robinson and Clevin Robinson II of Kentucky, and her cherished stepdaughter, Melika Robinson. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Demetrius, Mari'on, and Galonte Robinson, Armani of Texas, and Clevin III, Donovan, and Nehemiah Robinson, all of whom reside in Kentucky. Yvonne's memory will also be carried on by her great-grandchildren, the twins Mari'on and Mari'el Robinson.
She leaves behind her dear siblings: sisters Pamela Pringle, Teena Agee, and Tracy (Broderick) Smith, and brothers Kurt (Margie) Matthews (CA), Melvin Agee, and Eric Gasaway. They, along with a host of nieces and nephews, countless friends and extended family. They will remember her fondly for the joy and light she brought into their lives.
Yvonne's life was a celebration of family, friendship, and love. She was the heart of every gathering, and her ability to create joyous and memorable moments will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Yvonne Marie Robinson’s life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and joy. We bid farewell to a remarkable woman who will forever hold a special place in our hearts. In her words she "ain't raising no hell".
