It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Yvonne Freitag on June 14, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on August 17, 1947, in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana, Yvonne graced this world with her warmth and unwavering love for family, leaving a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her. Yvonne was a beacon of love and kindness, a woman whose life was a testament to the power of family and the bonds that hold us together. Her gentle spirit and steadfast devotion to her loved ones were evident in every facet of her life. She understood the importance of family and always sought to have them near, creating a home that was both a sanctuary and a gathering place filled with laughter, love, and shared memories. In 1986, Yvonne married the love of her life, Edward Freitag, with whom she shared a remarkable 40-year journey characterized by enduring love, mutual respect, and countless adventures. Their union was a source of strength and joy, inspiring all who had the privilege to witness their partnership. Yvonne's life was enriched by her beloved children, Michael, Larry, Rachael, and Ashley. She was a nurturing and devoted mother whose love knew no bounds. Her greatest joy was found in the presence of her family, and she took immense pride in the accomplishments and happiness of her children. Her legacy continues through her treasured grandchildren: Jordan, Blake, McKenzie, Gavin, Brandon, Cory, Stephen, Derrick, Ilyssa, Tyler, and Zayden. Each grandchild brought a unique joy to Yvonne's life, and she relished every moment spent with them, delighting in their laughter and cherishing each milestone. Yvonne was a woman of simple pleasures, finding joy in the everyday moments shared with her family. Her home was always open, a testament to her belief in the importance of togetherness. She had a knack for making everyone feel welcome and loved, a gift that endeared her to all who crossed her path. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Halifax Hospice, an organization close to Yvonne's heart, in honor of the compassionate care and support they provide. As we bid farewell to Yvonne, we celebrate her remarkable life, remembering her as a devoted wife, a loving mother, an adoring grandmother, and a cherished friend. Her legacy of love, kindness, and family unity will forever inspire us. Though she may have departed from this world, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. A private family service will be held to honor Yvonne's life, with a celebration of her life planned for a later date, where friends and family can gather to share stories and celebrate the beautiful life of a truly remarkable woman. Rest in peace, dear Yvonne. You have left an indelible mark on this world, and you will be deeply missed, but your love will remain with us always.
