In loving memory of our dear Yvonne Lasalle Freitag, who departed this world peacefully on June 14, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on August 17, 1947, in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana, Yvonne's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to family and friends. Yvonne was a remarkable woman whose spirit touched everyone she met. Her journey began in the heart of New Orleans, where she was born and raised. She carried the soulful essence of her birthplace with her throughout her life, bringing warmth and joy to those around her. Yvonne's career was both diverse and fulfilling. She dedicated many years of her life to serving others through her work at Hibernia Bank in New Orleans, Evergreen, and Home Depot. In each role, she was known for her unwavering dedication, kindness, and a smile that could light up any room. Her colleagues remember her as a beacon of positivity and a steadfast friend. Above all, Yvonne's greatest passion was her family. She was the loving wife of Edward Freitag, with whom she shared 40 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Yvonne's nurturing spirit extended to her children, Michael Flanagan, Larry Flanagan, Rachael Flanagan, Ashley Phelps, and stepchildren Eddie and Troy Freitag. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Stephen Flanagan, whom she held dear in her heart every day. Yvonne's legacy lives on in her grandchildren—Jordan, Blake, McKenzie, Gavin, Brandon, Cory, Stephen, Derrick, Ilyssa, Tyler, and Zayden—each of whom brought her immense joy and pride. Her family tree continues to flourish with 28 great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the love and values she instilled in her family. A devoted family woman, Yvonne cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Her home was a sanctuary where family gatherings were filled with laughter, storytelling, and the comforting aroma of her delicious cooking. She loved having her family near, and her home was always open to those she held dear. Beyond her family, Yvonne found joy in the written word and was an avid reader. She had a particular fondness for scary movies, enjoying the thrill of a good suspenseful tale. Yvonne also had a childlike wonder for Disney theme parks, where she delighted in the magic and imagination they offered. Yvonne was a woman of grace, strength, and unwavering love. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness and the beauty of a generous heart. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire her family and friends. A celebration of Yvonne's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and share stories of the profound impact she had on their lives. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity close to Yvonne's heart, as a tribute to her enduring spirit of giving. Yvonne Freitag will be dearly missed, yet her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love her. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love she so generously shared with the world.
