It is with profound sadness and gentle reverence that we announce the passing of Yvonne Denton, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Yvonne departed from this world on May 27, 2026, at the age of 73, after a battle with heart failure at Piedmont Augusta Hospital. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and the power of family, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Born on February 9, 1953, in the heart of Alabama, Yvonne was the cherished daughter of Martha Denton. From a young age, she imbued the warmth of her Southern roots into every aspect of her life. Her journey of love began in 1970 when she married William Denton, her devoted partner and loving husband. Together, they embarked on a remarkable journey, moving across states and building a foundation of happiness and togetherness that would span over five decades. Yvonne's professional life was characterized by her unwavering commitment to caring for others. As a nurse, she extended her nurturing spirit beyond her family, touching countless lives with her kindness and compassion. At home, she was the family chef, delighting loved ones with meals that were as nourishing to the soul as they were to the body. Her interests were as vibrant as her personality. Yvonne found joy in the simple pleasures of life—coloring, celebrating holidays with exuberance, and surrounding herself with the roosters she adored. Ultimately, her greatest passion was her family. Known for her ability to bring everyone together, Yvonne's home was a sanctuary of love and laughter, a place where happiness was palpable and everlasting. Yvonne is survived by her beloved husband, William Denton, who stood by her side every step of the way. She leaves behind her treasured children, Jermaine Jones, Tyrus Denton, Anthony Denton, and Murph Denton, along with her sister, Janet Denton. Her legacy continues through her 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, each a testament to the enduring love she instilled in her family. Preceded in death by her husband, Yvonne's spirit of joy and love remains unshaken. Her family takes comfort in the knowledge that she is reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. In honoring Yvonne's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Piedmont Augusta Hospital for their compassionate care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, reflecting Yvonne's enduring spirit and generosity. As we bid farewell to Yvonne, we hold her memory close, cherishing the happiness she spread and the love she shared. Her laughter, her wisdom, and her indomitable spirit will remain with us always. Yvonne, you will be deeply missed, but your legacy of love will forever illuminate the paths of those who were fortunate to know you.
