Yvonne Denise Edwards

June 5, 1958 — July 2, 2026

Yvonne Denise Edwards, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on June 5, 1958, in Los Angeles, California, Yvonne was the cherished daughter of Evelyn Muse and Harold Erwin. Her life was a testament to love, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. Yvonne's early years were spent in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, where she graduated from Dorsey High School in 1976. Her passion for caring for others led her to pursue a career in nursing, earning both her Associate's and Bachelor's degrees in Science. She dedicated 12 years of her career to the Marian Medical Center, where she touched countless lives as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the Critical Care Unit. Yvonne continued her vocation at Nurse Core, providing compassionate care for an additional 12 years. In 1977, Yvonne married the love of her life, Randal Derwin Edwards, embarking on a journey together that would span 54 beautiful years. Together, they built a loving family, blessed with five children: Randal Edwards Jr., Reginald Edwards, Raven Edwards, Rachael Edwards, and Reese Edwards. Yvonne's heart was filled with joy and pride as she watched her family grow, welcoming 12 grandchildren and, more recently, a great-granddaughter. Yvonne was predeceased by her parents, Evelyn Muse and Harold Erwin; her sister, Deborah Ann Rucker; her beloved husband, Randal; and her precious granddaughter, Nevaeh Marie Starr. Her legacy continues through her surviving family: her brothers, Butch Erwin and JJ Muse; her children; her grandchildren; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Yvonne found immense joy in the simplest of pleasures, particularly those times spent surrounded by her family. She was a guiding light, her laughter and wisdom leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. Her home was a sanctuary filled with warmth, love, and the aroma of her famous home-cooked meals, where family gatherings became treasured memories. As we remember Yvonne, we celebrate a life well-lived, a life devoted to nurturing and caring for others. Her compassionate spirit and unwavering love will be dearly missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Yvonne's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others. A memorial service to honor Yvonne's life will be held at a date to be announced. The family invites all who knew and loved her to join in celebrating her remarkable journey. Her spirit will forever shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched.
