Obituary Yvonne Chadee-Gibbs, who graced this world with her presence on February 29, 1940, in San Fernando, Trinidad, peacefully departed on August 23, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of Ruby Carew-Griffith and Ralph Chadee, both of whom preceded her in death, as did her sister Nova and brother Simeon. Yvonne lived a life defined by her adventurous spirit and professional demeanor. Her distinguished career with the United Nations in New York City was marked by her unwavering dedication, leading selfless missions to Somalia, Africa, and Haiti. Her work was a true reflection of her deep commitment to making a difference in the world around her. As a devoted mother, Yvonne is lovingly remembered by her children, Kelly Gibbs and Karen Gibbs-Brown. She also leaves behind her siblings, Alan, Sandy, Alex, and Debbie. Her enduring legacy lives on through her five cherished grandchildren: Domonic, Zecharia, Ethan, Sister, and Kaile, who brought immense joy to her life. Yvonne's love for traveling was only surpassed by her boundless love and support for her family. Her warmth, strength, and dedication remain an everlasting source of inspiration to those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed by all. In her memory, the family kindly suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Research Association, located in Saint Clair Shores, MI, to honor Yvonne’s life and her spirit of giving.
