Obituary for Young Kim It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Young Kim, who peacefully departed this world on July 5, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on May 2, 1944, in the vibrant city of Seoul, South Korea, Young's journey through life was marked by resilience, love, and an unwavering dedication to her family and community. In her early years, Young's path led her to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she embraced a new life with her husband, John Blackmon. Though their paths diverged and she embraced the role of a single mother, Young was undeterred. She devotedly raised her two beloved children, David Blackmon and Bessy Fletcher, with grace, strength, and an abundance of love. Her nurturing spirit ensured that her children wanted for nothing and knew the depths of her affection for them. Young’s professional life was characterized by diligence and commitment. For many years, she worked in a chocolate factory, a place where she found a sense of purpose and camaraderie. Even after life circumstances led her to disability, her spirit remained unbroken, and she continued to find joy in the simplest pleasures. A woman of varied interests, Young was particularly fond of knitting and watching basketball. Her hands were never idle, always crafting something beautiful or stirring up something delicious in the kitchen. Cooking was not just a hobby for Young; it was a way to gather her family and express her love. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, often taking them to parks and creating memories that will forever be treasured. Young's personality was as warm as it was vibrant. Her infectious smile and constant chatter were a source of comfort and joy to all who knew her. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel at ease, and her compassion knew no bounds. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children, David and Bessy, her six cherished grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, all of whom were a testament to the life she lived and the love she gave. A service to celebrate Young's life will be held on July 16, 2026, at 9:00 AM at Life Church, located at 5511 W Burleigh St, Milwaukee, WI. As we gather in remembrance, we honor the life of a remarkable woman whose spirit touched so many. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made in Young Kim's memory to a charity of your choice, as a way to continue her legacy of kindness and generosity. Young Kim's life was a tapestry of love, resilience, and grace, woven with the threads of family, hard work, and joy. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
