Yoness Darnell Wilson, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, at the age of 54. Born on August 10, 1971, in Detroit, Michigan, Yoness was a man whose presence lit up every room he entered, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him. Yoness was the cherished son of the late Larry Wilson and Joyce Bates. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers and grandfathers, as well as his mother and father, whose lessons and love he carried with him throughout his life. A proud graduate of East Catholic High School in Detroit, Yoness possessed a quick wit and a warm smile that could brighten even the darkest of days. His natural sense of humor and ability to speak his mind freely earned him a reputation as a candid and spirited individual who was never afraid to express himself. In the summer of 2024, Yoness married the love of his life, Delta Miles, on August 17th. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, companionship, and unwavering support. Yoness was a devoted father to his daughters, Jeannie, Myleatta, and Yonesia Wilson, who were the pride and joy of his life. He relished every moment spent with his grandchildren, Valdez Glenn, Carviyon Wilson, Michael Glenn, Kyyon Saine-Wilson, Hope Dudley-Wilson, Micco Dudley-Wilson, and Aiya Mulani, whose laughter and innocence brought him endless happiness. Yoness is survived by an extensive family who loved him dearly, including his wife, Delta, his daughters, and his grandchildren. He leaves behind his siblings, Michael and Wanda Beard, Coleen Whiteman, DeAngelo Bates, Larry Miller, Kizmet Holmes, and Tyhecia Hoskins, who will forever cherish the memories they created together. Known for his ability to lighten the mood with a well-timed joke, Yoness had a knack for bringing people together. His candid nature, while at times blunt, was always rooted in a deep sense of love and honesty. He was a man of authenticity, never shying away from speaking his truth, and this honesty endeared him to many. A service to celebrate the life of Yoness Darnell Wilson will be held on June 24, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Adams Mason Funeral Home, located at 791 E Market St, Akron, OH 44305. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance, to share stories, laughter, and tears, and to honor the remarkable life of a man who brought so much joy to others. While his physical presence will be greatly missed, Yoness's spirit will live on in the memories of those who knew him. His legacy of love, humor, and authenticity will continue to inspire all who were touched by his life. Rest in peace, dear Yoness, knowing that you were truly loved and will never be forgotten.
