Yolanda Diaz

Yolanda Diaz, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully departed this world on June 28, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on June 8, 1955, in El Paso, Texas, Yolanda was a beacon of love and kindness, whose presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Yolanda was the cherished daughter of Manuela M. Ortega, who survives her. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Ramon Diaz III, her son Ramon Diaz IV, her infant daughter Cynthia Noel Diaz, and her brother Roberto Ortega. Yolanda leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving family, which includes her children Eileen and Keith Reyes, James J. Diaz, and Jamie R. Diaz. She was a proud grandmother of ten, including her grandson Nicholas Diaz and daughter-in-law Chrystal Diaz, as well as her grandchildren Angel, Isabel, Giovanni, Rey, Kaitlyn, Ayden, Eian, Ethan, and Elijah. Yolanda was also blessed with great-grandchildren Bentlee, Giovanni, Amari, and Avery, who brought immense joy to her life. She is also survived by her loving sisters Yvonne Celis, Grace Ortega, Mary Moralez, Lucy Ortega, and Barbara Ortega, and her brother Jerry Ortega. Yolanda's journey began in El Paso, where she graduated from Jefferson High School in 1973. Her quest for knowledge led her to El Paso Community College, where she earned her degree as a medical coder. Her dedication to her craft was mirrored in her personal life, where she embraced every moment with warmth and enthusiasm. On November 3, 1975, Yolanda married the love of her life, Ramon Diaz III, in a beautiful ceremony in El Paso. Together, they built a wonderful life, raising their five children in a home filled with love and laughter. Their 43-year marriage was a testament to their deep commitment to one another and their family. Yolanda possessed a gracious and forgiving heart, welcoming everyone with open arms and a non-judgmental spirit. She was the family historian, passionate about researching and sharing her family's ancestry. An avid reader, Yolanda also found joy in crafting, embroidery, and DIY decorations, creating beauty in every corner of her life. Her love for culture was boundless. Yolanda fell in love with Asian culture, learning different languages, enjoying various shows, and embracing the food and holidays with enthusiasm. Her Sunday visits with her mother and sisters after church were treasured moments that reinforced the strong family bonds she so deeply valued.
