Yolanda Diaz, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, at the age of 71, surrounded by her loving children. Born in El Paso, Texas, on June 8, 1955, Yolanda lived a life rich in love, learning, and laughter. Yolanda was the cherished daughter of Manuela M. Ortega. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 43 years, Ramon Diaz III, her son Ramon Diaz IV, her infant daughter Cynthia Noel Diaz, and her brother Roberto Ortega. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her children Eileen Reyes (Keith), James J. Diaz, Jamie R. Diaz, and her grandchildren Nicholas, Angel, Isabel, Giovanni, Rey, Kaitlyn, Ayden, Eian, Ethan, and Elijah. Her spirit lives on in her great-grandchildren Bentlee, Giovanni, Amari, and Avery. Yolanda was also a cherished sister to Yvonne Celis, Grace Ortega, Mary Moralez, Lucy Ortega, Barbara Ortega, and Jerry Ortega. A proud graduate of Jefferson High School, Class of 1972, Yolanda furthered her education at El Paso Community College, where she earned her degree in medical coding. Her keen intellect and dedication to her work were admired by all who knew her. Yolanda's heart was as vast as her interests. She was an avid reader and a talented crafter, delighting in embroidery and creating beautiful DIY decorations. Her passion for family history made her the keeper of the stories that bound her family together. Sundays were reserved for cherished visits with her mother and sisters after church, a tradition that spoke to the deep bonds she nurtured throughout her life. Her curiosity and passion transcended borders; she embraced Asian culture with open arms, learning languages, exploring culinary delights, and celebrating holidays with joy and respect. Yolanda's gracious and forgiving spirit was a beacon to many, and her non-judgmental demeanor allowed friends, family, and even strangers to confide in her with ease. Yolanda's warmth and wisdom will be dearly missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will forever be remembered for her forgiving heart and welcoming spirit. Yolanda’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and forgiveness, and her memory will remain a guiding light for her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
