It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Yanna Tania Scott, who left this world far too soon on June 18, 2026. Born on July 7, 2006, in Kansas City, Yanna graced us with 19 years filled with her radiant spirit and boundless creativity. Yanna was a cherished daughter, sister, cousin, granddaughter, niece, and friend. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, John and Yina Scott, and her dear brother, Yj Scott. Her presence continues to shine brightly in the lives of her surviving family members: her sister, Yayinna Scott, and her brother, Yj Tompson. She will also be dearly missed by her cousins, Jayden Marie, Kayden Johnson, and Kay-T Washington; her grandparents, Gesha Jackson, Walter White, and Kayton Marke; and her aunts and uncles, Yanna Toina Deshae, Dejae Brown, and Zamar Hesting. Yanna was a student at Raytown High School, where she was known not just for her academic endeavors, but for the warmth and kindness she shared with everyone she encountered. Her bright smile and enthusiastic demeanor were trademarks of her personality, and she had an unmatched ability to light up any room she entered. Her passions were many and varied. Yanna had a remarkable talent for making bracelets, which she often shared with friends and family as tokens of her affection. Her love for cooking brought people together, filling her home with delicious aromas and cherished memories. Yanna’s most fervent passion, however, was for hairstyling. She dreamed of becoming a world-renowned hairdresser and stylist, and she worked tirelessly to make that dream a reality, even establishing her own business at a young age. Yanna's compassionate nature was reflected in her love of giving hugs, a simple yet profound gesture that conveyed her deep affection and care for others. She was truly the light in the dark for many and will be remembered for the joy and love she brought into our lives. In keeping with the family's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Yanna's life. During this time of immense grief, we ask for privacy and understanding as we come to terms with this unimaginable loss. Though her time with us was cut tragically short, Yanna Tania Scott's legacy of love, kindness, and creativity will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love that she so freely gave to others.
