In Loving Memory of Yalonda Yvonne Pollard Bradley Bowers It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Yalonda Yvonne Pollard Bradley Bowers, a cherished soul who graced this world on October 14, 1971, in Memphis, Tennessee. Yalonda gained her wings on August 12, 2026, at Methodist University Hospital in her beloved hometown of Memphis. Born to Robert and Alberta Jones Pollard, Yalonda was the youngest of a family deeply rooted in love and resilience. She was predeceased by her parents, her siblings Kimberly, Greg, and Robert, and her devoted spouse of six years, Rexcey Bowers. Yalonda was also preceded in death by her first husband, James Bradley, with whom she shared the joy of raising her sons, Eric and Bryant. Yalonda leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving family: her children Brittany (Alex), Eric (Mikkia), and Bryant (Natasha), as well as her adored grandchildren Dereon, Deon, Eriya, Tyler, Leah, Carson, and Erin. Her presence will also be deeply missed by a host of close friends who were like family to her. A proud graduate of Fairley High School, Class of 1989, Yalonda was a spirited participant in the marching band, choir, and as a flag girl. Her school years were filled with joy and camaraderie, and she often reminisced fondly with a resounding, “Go Bulldogs!” Yalonda's professional journey began at Kentucky Fried Chicken, followed by a dedicated tenure at Excel until her eyesight began to fail. Her indomitable spirit led her to join the National Federation for the Blind in Memphis, where she met her beloved Rexcey. Yalonda also obtained her cosmetology license, showcasing her multifaceted talents. A faithful member of Mt. Joyner MB Church, Yalonda was an active participant in the choir and the dance praise team. In April 2026, she helped host a benefit for the National Federation of the Blind of Memphis, honoring Rexcey with the "Rexcey Gospel Explosion." Yalonda possessed an adventurous spirit, finding joy in traveling and dining at various restaurants. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her grandchildren and sharing laughter and stories with friends. Known for her radiant smile and generous heart, Yalonda never met a stranger and was always eager to help those in need. A celebration of Yalonda's life will be held on August 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Mt. Joyner MB Church, located at 5113 Hillbrook Rd in Memphis. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice, in honor of Yalonda's giving spirit. As we say goodbye to this remarkable woman, we hold tight to the memories and the love she so freely gave. Rest in peace, dear Yalonda, knowing you have left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know you.
