YALONDA YAVONNE POLLARD BRADLEY BOWERS
October 14, 1971 — August 12, 2026
It is with profound sadness and yet a spirit of gratitude for the time we shared that we announce the passing of Yalonda Yavonne Pollard Bradley Bowers. Born on October 14, 1971, in Memphis, Tennessee, Yalonda graced this world with her presence until August 12, 2026, when she peacefully departed at Memphis University Hospital.
Yalonda was a beloved daughter of the late Robert and Alberta Jones Pollard. She was preceded in death by her cherished parents, her siblings Kimberley, Greg, and Robert, as well as her husband Rexcey Bowers, to whom she was devoted until his passing in June 2024. Her former husband, James Bradley, also preceded her in death.
A proud graduate of Fairley High School, Yalonda was an active student, participating in the choir, band, and as a flag girl. Her passion for beauty and creativity led her to earn her cosmetology license. After high school, she began her career at KFC and later brought her warm smile and work ethic to Excel.
Yalonda's life was a testament to her faith and dedication to her community. As a faithful member of Mt. Joyner MB Church, she sang in the choir and expressed her joy through the praise dance team. Even as her sight waned, she continued to inspire others by joining the National Blind Federation of America, where she found joy and purpose in participating in trips and volunteering.
An adventurous spirit, Yalonda loved to travel and explore new cuisines. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Her heart was a beacon of love and warmth, known for her radiant smile and genuine kindness towards everyone she met.
Yalonda is survived by her children, Brittany (Alex), Eric (Micky), and Bryant (Natasha), whose lives she enriched with her love and wisdom. Her legacy continues through her seven adored grandchildren: Derion, Deon, Eriya, Tyler, Leah, Carson, and Erin. She also leaves behind a host of close friends who cherished her deeply.
A celebration of Yalonda's remarkable life will be held on August 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Mt. Joyner MB Church, located at 5113 Hillbrooks. The family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in honor of Yalonda's giving spirit.
As we say goodbye to Yalonda, we hold on to the treasured memories and the profound impact she had on each of our lives. Her love and light will continue to guide and inspire us all.
