September 3, 1977 — May 14, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Woody (Jeromy Woods), who departed this world on May 20, 2026, at the age of 48, after a courageous battle with cancer. Woody was born on September 3, 1977, in Charlestown, Indiana, and was a cherished soul who brought warmth, laughter, and love to everyone he encountered. Woody was the proud son of the late Mildred Carlisle, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his devoted significant other, Sara, who stood by his side with unwavering love and strength. Also left to cherish his memory are his beloved bonus children, Michelle (Stanley) Hammack, Mark Daugherty, and Catherine (Lonnie) Anderson. Woody found immense joy in his role as a grandfather to his precious granddaughter, Kinsley, who was the light of his life. His siblings, brother Gary (Tammy) Woods and sister Tonya (Jeff) Isaac, will forever remember Woody as a loving and supportive brother. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Jerm along with an abundance of friends who became family over the years. In his youth, Woody found joy and camaraderie on the sports field, where he played with passion and dedication. In his twenties, he discovered a new passion—BEER—which he embraced wholeheartedly, finding joy and community in every shared pint. Woody's life was a testament to resilience, humor, and the power of love. His laughter was infectious, and his kindness knew no bounds. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel special, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the oncology staff at Baptist Health Floyd and U of L Hospital for the compassionate care and support they provided Woody during his valiant fight against cancer. Their dedication and kindness will never be forgotten. As we bid farewell to Woody, let us remember his spirit and the joy he brought into our lives. May his soul find peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew him. Services to celebrate Woody's life will be announced at a later date. Rest in peace, dear Woody. You are loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
