In Loving Memory of Wilton DuBois Wilton DuBois, born on June 6, 1944, in the vibrant town of Arima, Trinidad, peacefully transitioned from this life on July 8, 2026, surrounded by the comforting presence of his loved ones. The son of the late Michael and Iona DuBois, Wilton was a man of immense talent, unyielding faith, and boundless love. Predeceased by his parents and his siblings Samuel, Benjamin, and Cynthia Glasgow. Wilton leaves behind a legacy of love and music that will resonate through the generations. Wilton's journey led him to the United States, where he embraced every opportunity to learn and grow. He graduated from Airco Technical Institute in New York in the early 1970s and pursued his career as a pipe welder for fifteen years. Yet, it was his identity as a lifetime musician, composer, and Maestro of steel drums that defined his spirit. Music was not just a passion for Wilton; it was his soul's language, a way to connect with others, and a means to bring people together. In 2000, Wilton married the love of his life, Beverly Gail DuBois. Together, they shared 25 years of unwavering companionship and love, setting a beautiful example for their family. Wilton is survived by his beloved wife Beverly; his children Donitra (Pete) Daye and Wilton "Joey" DuBois; and his stepchildren William Hester and Kevin (Asia) Hester. He also leaves behind his cherished siblings Sheila, Milinda, Merle, Clara, and Sherman, and nine precious grandchildren who will carry forward the legacy of his love and wisdom. A devoted member of the Cole Mill Road Church of Christ for over forty years, Wilton's life was anchored in faith. His spiritual journey was as profound as his musical one, with his Bible always by his side. He found solace and strength in God's word, using it as a beacon of hope and guidance not only for himself but for everyone around him. Wilton's warmth, kindness, and encouragement touched countless lives. His Trinidadian accent and compassionate heart were as unmistakable as his steel drum melodies, and his desire to uplift others was evident in every encounter. He had a special affinity for children, inspiring hope and fostering a belief in a brighter future for them all. A celebration of Wilton's remarkable life will be held on August 1, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Cole Mill Road Church of Christ. It will be a time to honor his legacy, share memories, and find comfort in the love he bestowed upon the world. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association Inc, in memory of Wilton. His family shares this special message: "Buffeted But Not Broken. With God to guide me and Jesus beside me, though I am buffeted, I will not be broken." Wilton's journey on earth may have ended, but the echoes of his life, filled with music, faith, and love, will forever inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. His strength, spirit, and unwavering belief in overcoming life's challenges will remain a guiding light for many.
