Born on July 10, 1939, in the humble surroundings of Ellendale, Terrebonne Parish, Wilton's life journey came to a peaceful end on August 13, 2026. He was embraced by the love of his family and the grace of his faith. Wilton was the beloved son of Frank Madison, Sr. and Gladys Scott Madison, who instilled in him the values of resilience and kindness. As a member of a large and spirited family, he was predeceased by his siblings—Berwick “Deuce,” Sr., Helen “Lady,” Amanda “Mandy,” Tazille “Charlie,” Sr., Moses “Mo,” Jack, Frank, Jr., Roosevelt “Esky,” Sr., Jessie, David, Ella, Mary, Susie, and Gladys, Jr. Wilton cherished the memories of growing up in Houma, Louisiana, where he spent countless days creating lifelong memories in Bunche Village. Wilton's life was filled with love and dedication to his family. He was predeceased by his first wife, Eddievien Patricia King Madison, and his former wife, Eldora Riley Madison. He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Ann Williams Madison, with whom he shared an inseparable bond. Together, they created a tapestry of love and togetherness, which was a testament to their strong relationship. Wilton was a father to a large and diverse family. His children, Eric Turner, Kimberly Green, Belinda Dawson, Wilton Madison, Jr., Cassandra Madison, Carolyn Hamilton, Lourdez Madison, Renetta Bush, Angela Kennedy, Jomo Madison, Darnell Nelson, Brittany Riley, and Rashad Riley, alongside his sprawling extended family of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends, continue to carry his legacy of love and laughter. A graduate of Terrebonne High School, Wilton was a talented football player who carried his love for sports into his adult life. His career as a butcher and truck driver showcased his dedication and work ethic, but it was his roles as a father and husband that truly defined him. Wilton was a man of many talents and passions. From fishing to playing pool, strumming the guitar to singing with a melodic voice, he was a charismatic presence who brought joy to everyone around him. Wilton's life was guided by his deep faith. As an active member of the Christian community, he was a true believer in Jesus Christ and lived his life with love, laughter, and faith. His quick wit, wise-cracking humor, and generous spirit made him a beloved figure to all who knew him. He was a man who could fix anything, except, as his family lovingly noted, the ache of his absence.
