It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wilma J. Shadday, a beloved matriarch, friend, and community member, who departed this world on July 16, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 22, 1941, in Baltimore, Maryland, Wilma's life was a testament to love, resilience, and dedication. Wilma was the cherished daughter of the late Ruth and Herbert Mede and was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Willem Shadday, and her dear brothers. Her legacy lives on through her loving family, including her children, sisters, 10 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Wilma's family was the center of her world, and she took immense pride in their accomplishments and cherished every moment spent together. A proud alumnus of Hayden High School, Wilma built a successful career at Cummins Engineering, where she was known for her diligence, integrity, and unwavering commitment to excellence. Her work was not just a job but a passion that fueled her desire to contribute positively to the world around her. Wilma was a devoted member of the Church of Christ, where she formed lifelong friendships and nurtured her spiritual growth.
