It is with both profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Wilma Fae Ritchey Chapman on October 23, 2026. She was 87 years old. Born on April 23, 1939, in Springdale, Arkansas, Wilma graced this world with her radiant smile and infectious joy, bringing light to those around her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Harold Clifford Chapman, her parents, her sister Billie Haden, her brother Bobby Ritchey, nieces Trena Smythe, Monica Wells, Debbie Fleet, and cousins Darlene Ely, Diane Allen, Sharon Ely, Tom, and Lola Mitchell. Despite the sorrow of these losses, Wilma's heart remained full, nurtured by the love of her surviving family.

An active member of Central Baptist Church in Marshall, Wilma was a vibrant presence within her community. After moving to Longview, she continued her worship at Woodland Hills Baptist Church and remained a spirited attendee until her health required her to stay closer to Longview Hill. Her unwavering faith and role as a prayer warrior touched many lives! She found great joy in services that Pastor Michael Hart, of Glenwood First Baptist brought to the nursing home on Sundays. Worship was led by William and Sondra and Susie .
Wilma's love for family time knew no bounds. Whether traveling, enjoying picnics, or attending her grandchildren’s and great grandkids events, she embraced these moments with enthusiasm. Her passions extended to painting, singing, and even engaging in the excitement of a bowling league.
Known for her beautiful smile, Wilma's joy and strength were deeply rooted in her faith. She was adventurous, unafraid to try new things, even zip-lining, and her laughter was contagious.
The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to Longview Hill Nursing Home and Rehabilitation for their compassionate care, and to the team at Marshall Hospice, whose support was invaluable during Wilma's final weeks. Your kindness, love and understanding provided great comfort and encouragement.
