Willliam "Bo" Jones

March 4, 1955 — July 11, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William "Bo" Jones on July 11, 2026. Born on March 4, 1955, in the vibrant borough of the Bronx, NY, Bo was the cherished son of Pauline Elizabeth Jones, originally from Charlottesville, VA, and William (Billy) Foster of New York, NY. Bo was predeceased by his beloved brother David "Macadue" Jones. Bo's journey on this earthly plane was one marked by love, kindness, and a touch of music that resonated with everyone he met. He was a dedicated father to his daughter, Shelee Parker-Jones, and a proud grandfather to Dior Wright and Chase Connell, who filled his life with endless joy and laughter. A product of the Bronx, William attended P.S. 44 and later completed his education at Monroe High School in New York, NY. His educational journey continued at Royal Business School, where he honed skills that would serve him throughout his career. In 1970, Bo embarked on a noble path of service, enlisting in the U.S. Army, where he served with distinction until 1974. During his time in the military, he achieved the rank of Sergeant and was stationed in Germany for two years. His dedication and meritorious service earned him the Army Commendation Medal—a testament to his unwavering commitment to his country. Upon returning to civilian life, Bo’s professional journey led him to Tower Records and various local jobs, before he found his calling at the Human Resource Administration - Medical Assistance Program/ Department of Social Services (DSS), where he worked for over 20 years. His colleagues and community members remember him as a dedicated worker and a compassionate friend. Bo’s love for music was as profound as his love for life. A talented drummer and trumpet player, he also loved to sing, infusing his world with rhythm and melody. A die-hard New York Knicks fan, Bo found joy in sports, especially basketball, and always held onto the hope of witnessing his favorite team make history. Known for his charisma and gentlemanly demeanor, Bo never married but captivated many with his sweet and caring nature. His laughter and warmth made all who knew him feel welcomed and valued. Bo’s bravery, smiles, and generous spirit touched countless lives and left an indelible mark on his community. He is survived by his loving brothers, Ronald Jones and Wesley Moore, his nephews David Underdue and Wesley Moore, his niece Talia Moore, and his great-nephews Kyrie and Kasen Lewis, along with a host of cherished family members and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Bo’s life will be held on August 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the East End / Ross-Roden Funeral Services, located at 725 Gun Hill Road, Bronx, NY 10467. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support they have received. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bo’s memory to a charity of your choice. As we say goodbye to Bo, we find solace in the words of Psalms 34:18: "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit." May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
