Willistena Lenora Cusack

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Willistena Cusack, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world on August 23, 2026, after a courageous battle with heart disease. Born on November 21, 1972, in Dorchester, Willistena was a beacon of light and warmth to everyone she encountered. Willistena was the beloved daughter of Willie Joe Cusack and the late Patricia Maxine Cusack and granddaughter of Carrie Gule. She was preceded in death by her dear mother, Patricia, whose gentle spirit she so beautifully reflected in her own life. Willistena's legacy of love and kindness lives on through her cherished daughter, Jasmine Cusack, her adored grandson, Ja’Kari Cusack, her loving sister, Yvonne Cusack and niece Colline Cusack. Her family was the center of her universe, and she found immense joy in the laughter and love they shared. Known for her remarkable sense of humor and her innate ability to make everyone feel warm and welcome, Willistena was a friend to many and a confidante to those who needed one most. She possessed an extraordinary gift for making people feel valued and loved, often going out of her way to help others, no matter the circumstances. Willistena's life was a testament to the power of kindness and generosity. Her spirit of service extended beyond her family to a host of close friends and extended family, including her devoted niece, Colline. Her home was always open, a gathering place where love was abundant, and laughter was the language spoken. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the professionals at MUSC and Stevens Funeral Home for their support and compassion during this difficult time. A service to honor and celebrate Willistena's life will be held on August 31, 2026, at Steven’s Funeral Home.
