Willis Dale King

October 13, 1944 — April 6, 2026

Willis Dale King, a devoted husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, brother and friend, passed peacefully in South Jordan, Utah on April 6, 2026, at the age of 81. Born October 13, 1944, in Littlefield, Texas, Dale lived a life marked by resilience, humor, and devotion to those he loved. Dale was born to James Edgar King and Opal Minor, who predeceased him. He graduated from Lakeside High School in Lakeside, Arizona in 1962. After moving to California, he started a career that would span four decades as a Lineman and Apprentice Coordinator for Southern California Edison and the City of Burbank Water and Power. His colleagues knew him not only for his skill but for the pride he took in his workmanship, a testament to his dedication and meticulous nature. In December 1995, Dale married Eileen. Together, they travelled the world, sharing dreams and memories that would last a lifetime. They built a beautiful mountain home in McCloud, California where they lived for 18 years, cultivating an amazing garden, including extraordinary flowering trees. Dale is survived by his loving wife Eileen. Dale also leaves behind three children: Tamera (Tony) Rasmussen, Tim (Tanya) King, and Tracy (Mark) Kauffman as well as 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; his brothers, Fred and Tommy Lynn King, Calvin and Dee Minor and sister Bonnie Jones. Dale was a man of simple pleasures. He took great pride in his home and cars, maintaining each of them with the utmost care. His hats were his signature, whether it was a hard hat at work and either a cowboy hat or his favorite John Deere baseball cap at home. Known for never letting a gas tank dip below half full, Dale approached life with the same preparedness and care. He could always be found with an ice cold Diet Pepsi or Dr Pepper in his glass. As we say goodbye for now to a beloved husband, father, and friend, we find solace knowing that he has been released from the heavy weight of living with dementia for over 10 years. He was able to keep his sense of humor which reminds us that hope and positivity persist, even during challenging times. A private memorial will be held in Dale's honor. His family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their condolences and support during this time.
