Willie Lewis Jr.
October 21, 1962 — July 3, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Willie Lewis, who departed this life on July 3, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 21, 1962, Willie was a beacon of strength and joy to all who knew him.
Willie was the beloved son of the late Willie Lewis Sr. and Catheline Brown. He joins his parents, as well as his brother, Danny Lewis, and sisters, Teresa Holton and Carol Bonds, in eternal rest.
Willie was a dedicated and loving partner to Earlene "Shakee" Brown, whose unwavering care and devotion provided him comfort during his hardest days. He was a proud father to his children, Jeramie Lewis and his wife Bertina, Jasmine Lewis, and Amber Brooks with her fiancée, Houston Brooks Sr. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Kananda, Julius, Gabriella, Maxwell, Nicholas, Houston Jr., and Ky'mani. Though he leaves behind no great-grandchildren, the love he instilled in his family will resonate for generations.
Known for his realism, Willie was a man who could light up a room with his humor and outgoing nature. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, a testament to his generous spirit. His passion for working on cars was only surpassed by his devotion to his family, with whom he cherished spending his time.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone who has shown support during this difficult time. Your kindness has been a source of comfort. A special note of gratitude is extended to Ms. Earlene "Shakee" Brown for the tireless care and love she provided Willie, especially in his final days.
In memory of Willie, the family suggests donations to a cancer research organization of your choice, to continue the fight against the disease that took him from us too soon.
While we mourn the loss of Willie, we also celebrate the indelible mark he left on our hearts. His laughter, strength, and love will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
