Willie was born on August 5, 1960, in the close-knit community of Moncure, North Carolina, to the late Ben Jennings and Rose Harris. His journey from his birthplace to touching countless lives was one marked by dedication, love, and an unwavering commitment to family and education. Willie was a cherished father, a proud grandfather, and a beloved great-grandfather. He leaves behind a family who will forever celebrate his legacy: his ex-wife, Jo Hollis, his children Ebony Jennings (Rodney), Robin Taylor, David Jennings, Willie Jennings Jr., and Christina Jennings. His brothers, Harold Shaw, James Jennings, and Rapheal Jennings, and the generations that follow him—five grandchildren and one great-grandchild—will continue to carry his light forward. Throughout his life, Willie was a beacon of strength and wisdom for his family and community. His work with the Prince Georges County School Board was a testament to his dedication to nurturing young minds and ensuring a brighter future for all children. His colleagues and students remember him as a mentor, a leader, and a friend who always had time to listen and a heart open to helping those in need. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Willie's life and bid farewell at a service on July 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Liberty Chapel Church, located at 1855 Old HWY. It is in this sacred space that we will gather to honor a man whose spirit will forever remain in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Willie’s generous spirit and his lifelong dedication to causes greater than himself.
