Born on August 21,1941,in Pineapple, Alabama august, 1941, in Pineapple, Alabama, Willie's journey through life was one of love, dedication, and service to others. Willie was the cherished son of the late Willie and Corine (Lee) Gulley. He was predeceased by his beloved sisters Edna Earl Parker, Martha Gulley, Barba Jean Lett, Rosa Lee Gulley, Mary Johnson, and his brother Henry Gulley. Despite the loss of many family members, Willie found solace and strength in the love he shared with his surviving family. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 39 years, Vinie Mae Gulley, whom he married on December 26, 1987. Together, they nurtured a blended family that was the center of his world. He was a loving father to his daughters Rhonda (Greg) McDaniel of Tampa, Florida, and Edith (James) Smith of Carson, California, and to his son Courtney (Kiesha) Gulley of Phoenix, Arizona. He was also a caring stepfather to Harold (Kandi) Wagner of Carson, California, and Prince (Tomiko) Barrom of Paramount, California. His legacy extends through his cherished eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, each a testament to the love and wisdom he imparted. Willie's life was marked by a commitment to hard work and service. After graduating from Douglasville High School in Bay Minette, Alabama, in 1960, he embarked on a fulfilling career with United Airlines. Beginning at JFK in New York in 1966, he later moved to Los Angeles, where he retired from LAX in 1995. His colleagues remember him as a dedicated worker with a ready smile and an infectious sense of humor that made the workplace brighter. Beyond his professional life, Willie was a pillar of his community and church. As an active member of Park Windsor Baptist Church, he served diligently as Chairman of the Deacons, a church Trustee, and a member of the Pastor Relations community. His faith guided him, and his service inspired those around him. Willie's love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies; he enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking, and traveling. These passions were more than pastimes—they were ways in which he connected with family, friends, and the world around him. His warmth and generosity left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued, touching countless lives with his kindness and open heart. In addition to his immediate family, Willie is survived by his brothers Gerald Gulley of Atlanta, Georgia, and Bryce (Yalonda) Gulley of Maryland. Sister Alice Betha of Bay Minette,Alabama, Sister-inlaw Belinda Kay Simmons of Atlanta, Ga, and Brother-inlaw Sam Parker of BayMinette, Alabama. Willie Gulley will be remembered not only for his many accomplishments but for the love and joy he brought into the lives of others. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were privileged to know him.
