With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for the love she shared, we announce the passing of our beloved Willie Mae Jones-Robinson on June 4, 2026. She was surrounded by her family, leaving this world peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. Willie Mae was a beacon of strength and warmth, whose life was a testament to the power of love and resilience.
Born on December 12, 1960, in Richmond, Virginia, Willie Mae was the cherished daughter of the late John and Rosie Jones. She was a proud alumna of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, where she earned her bachelor's degree in nursing in 1982. Her dedication to helping others was evident in both her professional and personal life, where she consistently offered assistance and care to anyone in need.
In 1983, Willie Mae married her soulmate, C. Robinson, in a beautiful ceremony in Virginia. Together, they forged a remarkable partnership that spanned 43 years, characterized by unwavering devotion and mutual respect. Their love story was enriched by the birth of their four beloved children: D. Robinson, B. Robinson, C. Robinson, and the late M. Robinson. As a family, they created a home filled with laughter, learning, and unconditional love.
Willie Mae's nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, as she was a cherished sister to T. Jones and B. Jones, and sister-in-law to M. Jones and F. Jones. Her legacy is further carried on by her 11 grandchildren—eight granddaughters and three grandsons—who were the light of her life, as well as an extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who adored her.
Predeceased by her parents, sister D. Jones, and son M. Robinson, Willie Mae faced life's challenges with grace and humor. Her strength was matched only by her compassion, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Willie Mae will be remembered for her infectious laughter, her ability to find joy in everyday moments, and her unwavering commitment to those she loved. Her life was a beautiful mosaic of strength, caring, and humor, and her memory will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have known her.
A celebration of Willie Mae's life will be held on June 11, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Crown Funeral Home, located at 2207 Fairfax Ave, Richmond, VA 23224. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a truly remarkable woman who touched the lives of so many.
