April 25, 1932 — September 11, 2026

Willie Mae Alexander, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, teacher, and friend, was born on April 25, 1932, and resided in Hernando, Mississippi. She departed this life on September 12, 2026. Willie Mae dedicated her life to serving others and making a difference in the lives of those around her. In 1984, she began her career in education as a second-grade teacher at Oak Grove Elementary School. She later moved into the role of the school's librarian, where she continued to serve and inspire students until her retirement. Willie Mae was reliable and a good friend to many people. Her presence touched the lives of countless people throughout her years of teaching and service. At the age of 16, Willie Mae gave her life to Christ. She was a member of Beachum Chapel CME Church, where her faith remained an important part of her life. Family was one of Willie Mae's greatest joys. She loved family get-togethers more than anything. Music and dancing with her children and grandchildren always seemed to light up her day. Her love, laughter, and warmth will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Those Left to Cherish Her Memory Willie Mae leaves to cherish her precious memory her two children, Vaitor Joyner (Eddie Joyner) and Wayne Lee Alexander, both of Holly Springs, Mississippi; her two sisters, Carol Edwards and Sonya Davis, both of Hernando, Mississippi; along with her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of loving friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edna Reese and Marvin Reese. Though Willie Mae has taken her rest, the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the beautiful memories she created will live on through her family, friends, former students, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
