Willie was the beloved son of Willie Lee Taylor Sr. and Lodell Tatum Taylor, who instilled in him the values of hard work, kindness, and generosity that he carried throughout his life. With a heart full of love, he dedicated himself to his family, his work, and his community, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and integrity.
For 36 remarkable years, Willie served as a mechanical engineer at Ford, where he climbed the ranks to become a manager. His career was not just a job but a testament to his unwavering dedication and exceptional skills. Willie's colleagues and friends at Ford remember him as a tireless worker whose sense of humor and generous spirit brought joy to the workplace.
Willie was a devoted husband to his wife, Janet, with whom he shared 26 years of marriage filled with laughter, love, and mutual respect. Together, they built a life rich in memories and love, nurturing their family with care and devotion. He was a loving father to his son, Darius Deion Taylor, and a proud grandfather to Mack and Nylah Taylor, who were the light of his life. In them, Willie’s legacy of kindness and strength will continue to flourish.
Predeceased by his son, Willie now joins him in eternal rest, leaving behind a family that will forever hold him in their hearts. His strength, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to his loved ones will be remembered by all who knew him.
In honor of Willie's life and his generous spirit, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, a cause close to his heart. A memorial fund, The Willie Lee Taylor Fund, has been established to continue supporting the values and causes Willie held dear.
A private ceremony will be held to celebrate Willie’s life, offering his family and close friends a space to grieve and to share the many stories of his kindness, humor, and the countless ways he touched their lives.
Willie Lee Taylor Jr.’s journey on this earth may have come to a close, but his spirit will forever guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace, his love and light never forgotten.
