Willie Lee Lane, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, left this world on July 13, 2026, at the age of 85. Born in the serene town of Lake Providence, Louisiana, on June 28, 1941, Willie was the beloved son of Daisy Lane and John Mason. Willie spent his formative years in Lake Providence, where he attended GW Griffin School, graduating in 1960. His education laid the foundation for a life characterized by hard work, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community. In his professional life, Willie found his calling at Bunge, where he dedicated 40 years of service before retiring. His peers and colleagues will remember him as a diligent worker and a man of integrity. Willie's work ethic was a testament to his character and a source of pride for his family. Faith played a central role in Willie's life. As a devoted member of New Morning Star Church on the Island, he was cherished by his church family. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith were a guiding light to all who knew him. Willie's personal life was enriched by his loving family. For 24 beautiful years, he shared a deep and abiding love with his wife, Katie Mae Lane. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home filled with laughter and love. Willie is lovingly remembered by his son, Rodney Bernard Brown, and a host of stepchildren: Roshell Polk-Guichard, Kevin Gamar Proctor, Wendy Graham-Stringfellow, Roshell Nicole Proctor, and Katey Stringfellow. His legacy continues through his great-grandson, Thomas Kace Proctor, his goddaughter, Porshia Berry, and numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Willie is predeceased by his former wife, Ethel P Lane, his stepson, Edward Jesse Proctor, his stepdaughter, Shanda Proctor, and his siblings, Billy Earl, James Edward, Lonzo, Ruby, Rosie, and Linda Cooper. Each of these losses shaped his life and deepened his compassion for others. Though gone from our sight, Willie Lee Lane's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His generosity, warmth, and gentle nature will be dearly missed but never forgotten. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Willie's memory, honoring his legacy of kindness and community spirit.
