Willie James Lockhart, a beacon of light and love, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, in the company of family and friends. Born on August 13, 1974, in Jacksonville, Florida, Willie was a cherished son to Betty Lee and Robert. His departure, following a courageous battle with prostate cancer, leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him. Willie was a man of many talents and passions. He graduated from Forest High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Florida. His professional pursuits were marked by dedication and excellence, yet it was his personal qualities that truly distinguished him. Known for his quick wit and ever-present warm smile, Willie had an extraordinary ability to lighten any room with a well-timed joke. His genuine kindness and generosity were hallmarks of his character, endearing him to everyone he met and leaving an indelible mark on countless lives. Family was central to Willie’s life. He was a devoted father, though he faced the unimaginable pain of losing his beloved daughter LeighAnn. He was also predeceased by his sister Pam and brother Tommy, and while their absence weighed heavily on his heart, he remained a pillar of strength and hope. Willie is survived by his loving parents, Betty Lee and Robert, and his cherished grandchild, who brought him endless joy and pride. A celebration of Willie’s life will be held on March 28, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Celebration Church, located at 9555 R G Skinner Pkwy. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a man whose life was a testament to love, laughter, and kindness. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in honor of Willie’s generous spirit. As we say goodbye to a remarkable man, we hold dear the memories of his love and laughter. His family shares this special message: "Forever in our hearts."
