With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Willie James Jordan, who departed this life on September 2, 2026, at the age of 73. Willie was born on August 22, 1953, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, to the late Jessie Sr and Jean Jordan. From a young age, he was instilled with the values of love, laughter, and resilience, which he carried throughout his life. Willie was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, the late Katherine Jordan. Together, they built a life filled with love and joy in Minneapolis Minnesota., He leaves his cherished memories behind to his daughters Sherri Kay Jordan, and , Socorro Latrina Biles.3 Brothers Jessie Jr ,Lugene and Donrell ( Corrine) 4 Sisters Lilly Mae Johnson of Detroit Debra Maurita and Cathaleen Jordan Willie was a proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, who carry the light of his life. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Katherine, his son Antwone Biles, his sister Regina Jordan, and brothers Alvin, Raymond, and Maurice Jordan. Despite these profound losses, Willie remained a pillar of strength and humor for his family and friends. Willie attended school in Chicago and later dedicated his career to public safety, serving as a public safety officer for the Greyhound Bus Company. His family and friends remember him for his unwavering dedication and his ability to brighten any day with his infectious humor and captivating stories. Willie possessed a deep, unique voice that made his jokes and tales all the more memorable. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Willie had a zest for life that was evident in his hobbies. He found peace in fishing, joy in cooking soulful meals, and solace in reading his Bible. Known for his intellectual curiosity, he relished engaging in thoughtful conversations that could span various topics. Above all, Willie was a man of love—a loving father, a doting grandfather, a caring uncle and a loyal friend. His great sense of humor and masterful storytelling endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His presence was a gift that will be deeply missed but fondly remembered. A celebration of Willie’s life will be held on September 18, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church, located at 3335 W Washington St. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Willie’s generous spirit and compassionate heart. Willie James Jordan leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and enduring memories. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
