Willie Earl Johnson

Willie Earl Johnson "Dub" passed away on April 24, 2026 in Round Rock Texas.Born on November 30, 1955. Willie was born to Louise and George in 1955 . In 1960, Louise married J.B Mitchell and by 1962 the family relocated to Oakland, Ca Willie grew up in a close-knit family as the second oldest of six siblings. He shared a special bond with his mother Louise, a connection so profound that her passing deeply affected him. Willie siblings --Howard Sr. James, Mary remember him fondly as a loving brother. He was preceeded in death by his parents Louise & J.B , and George his grand parents, sister Barbara Brown ; his brother Donald Johnson; three nephews and numerous aunts and uncles Willie attended Oakland public schools where he graduated from castlemont high in 1973. From a early age he displayed a remarkable work ethic. Whether mowing lawns or selling candy as a child or working for the Danzy family caring for thier disabled son, willie always gave his best to every endeavor. Around 40 years ago Willie moved to Texas and began a long career with Goodwill Industries. To him Goodwill was more than just a workplace- it was family. Even after retiring he remain close to his Goodwill colleagues, continued to spend time with them like family.. Willie went to work for Pritchard 10 years ago again he made new family not just co workers. All who knew willie knows he remained faithful to his Bay area home teams-the Raiders, Golden state warriors, and oakland A's. Willie also loved food ( with red bean and rices being one of his favorites), traveling with his beloved Exzetta Fields( his love and travel companion) and spending time with extended family members including aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Willie personality and ability to connect with everyone he met. A true people person, he never hesitated to greet strangers or make new friends. His vibrant spirit touched countless lives. Willie greatest joy though was his son Devon (Michele) daughter Anjelica Castillo Johnson Aka Nikki as well as his two grandchildren, Devon Jr. And Riley who lovingly called him papa. His grand children were the light of his life and he cherished every moment spent with them.
