WILLIE DAVIS JOHNSON JR

April 6, 1964 — June 16, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Willie Davis Johnson Jr., a beloved son, brother, and friend. Willie was born on April 6, 1964, in Kountze, Texas, and passed away suddenly on June 16, 2026, after a short illness in the comfort of his home. Willie was the cherished son of the late Willie Davis Johnson Sr. and Eddie Mae Johnson. He is predeceased by his father and grandmothers, Gladys Edwards and Maebell Hageon. Willie leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted mother, Eddie Mae Johnson, and his siblings, Renetha Taylor (James), Sonja Howard (Ernest), Sharon Ruth (Greg), Tonya Thompson (Jerry), and Kelvin Price Sr. (Rose). A proud graduate of Silsbee High School's Class of 1983, Willie had a passion for auto mechanics, painting, and assembling various creations. These early interests laid the foundation for his career as a diligent and hardworking man. Willie began his professional journey at Minimax Grocery, where he worked for several years until its closing. He then dedicated 25 years of service to Wooden Pallet, followed by a brief tenure at Dragon Products. Ultimately, Willie found his true calling and joy working at Walmart, surrounded by people he loved. In his personal life, Willie was a man of faith who accepted Christ at an early age, joining the New Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. H.T. Tatmon. He enjoyed simple pleasures, such as fishing, drawing, and riding his bicycle. Willie found solace in his "man cave," where he indulged in watching Westerns, a favorite pastime that brought him great joy. Willie was known for his quick wit, warm smile, and the rare ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued. His kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on the lives he touched, and his memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. A celebration of Willie's life will be held on June 27, 2026, at 12:00 PM at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, located at 480 Bonner Street, Silsbee, Texas 77656. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring his remarkable life and legacy. The family of Willie Davis Johnson Jr. would like to express their sincere gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
