Willie Dash Butler
January 10, 1950 — September 25, 2026
Willie Dash was born January 10, 1950 in Orangeburg, SC. He was the son of the late David Dash who departed this life at a very young age while serving in the military.
Willie was adopted by his grandparents, the late Willie and Dinah Butler when he was 10 years old. He relocated to Brooklyn, NY with his mother, Mrs. Janie Butler-Sykes, and late stepfather, Mr. Leroy Sykes. Brooklyn is also where he attended elementary school P.S. 59 and J.H.S. 33. In September 1992, Willie received his
H.S. equivalency diploma.
Willie enjoyed both handball and paddleball. He was always the life of the party and often kept smiles on the faces of his family and friends. In November 1994, he married his wife, Patricia Reynolds, of 20 years.
At a very young age, Willie studied as one of Jehovah's Witness while attending the Kingdom Hall with his mother and three sisters. Willie was happy to be baptized as one of Jehovah's witnesses in August 2013.
Willie will be dearly missed by his his wife, Patricia Butler, three children, Kimberly (Brooklyn, NY), Willie (Brodheadsville, PA) and LaKeya (New York, NY, along with three grandchildren, Niesha, Kimandre, and Willie Jr. He also leaves behind four step children and six step grandchildren. Will also leaves to mourn his mother, Janie Butler-Sykes (Brooklyn, NY), Aunt Willie Mae Adams (Queens, NY), three sisters, Harriet Sykes (Bronx, NY), Sharon Cutehins (Queens, NY) and Berly Sykes (Brooklyn, NY), one brother-in-law, Pervin Cutehins Sr., nieces Tameka, Shavon, Quanda and Juanita. Nephew Pervin Jr., along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Willie will be remembered as a loving,
kind-hearted family man who enjoyed his life as a son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend.
