With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Willie B. McFerren Sr., who left this world for his heavenly home on August 29, 2026. Willie, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, was surrounded by his devoted family at St. Francis Memorial Hospital as he peacefully transitioned into eternal rest.
A Life of Kindness and Dedication
Born on April 1, 1958, in Macon, Tennessee, Willie was the twelfth of sixteen children to the late Howard and Ella Mae McFerren. From a young age, he embraced his faith and became a member of the Macon Missionary Baptist Church, a foundation that guided him throughout his life. Willie was a man of unwavering kindness, characterized by his love for helping others. Whether it was cutting grass, painting walls, or offering a listening ear, he found true fulfillment in being of service.
A Passion for the Outdoors
An avid outdoorsman, Willie's heart was forever drawn to the tranquility of fishing. For him, it was more than a pastime; it was a sanctuary where he found peace, quiet, and joy. By the water, he created cherished memories and embraced a sense of freedom, always returning home with a story to tell and a smile on his face.
Beloved Family
Willie was proceeded in death by his parents, Howard and Ella Mae McFerren; his sisters, Mammie B., Julia Ann, and Ora B. Pruitt; his brothers, Johnny B., Joe Henry, Howard Jr., and Melvin; and his beloved son, Willie B. "B.B." McFerren Jr.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Clementine "Cookie" McFerren, and his children, who carry forward his legacy of love and compassion: James Jones (Tasha), Lakeisha Sneed (Demarcus), and Jamarcus McFerren (Marlayna). He also leaves behind eight siblings: Fred McFerren (Shirley), Mary Hayslett (Tommie), Georgia McFerren, Eva Jones, Margaret "Helen" Taylor (Robert), Carrey McFerren (Linda), Gloria McFerren, and Norman McFerren. Willie’s memory will be cherished by his five adoring grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, extended family, and a wide circle of friends.
Celebrating a Life Well Lived
A celebration of Willie’s life will be held on September 12, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Fellowship Missionary Church, located at 7560 Hwy 195, Somerville, TN 38068. Family and friends will gather to honor the remarkable life he led and the countless lives he touched.
The family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in lieu of flowers, as a tribute to Willie’s enduring spirit of generosity.
A special message from his daughter, Lakeisha, extends heartfelt thanks to all the aunts and uncles who cared for her father during his time of illness. Your love and support have been a profound comfort.
Willie B. McFerren Sr. will forever be remembered for his laughter, his unwavering kindness, and his boundless love for those around him. Rest in peace, dear Willie. You are deeply loved and will be missed beyond measure.
