In Loving Memory

Willie Al Hendrix
February 1, 1963 — April 5, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Willie Al Hendrix, who departed this world on April 5, 2026, at the age of 63. Born on February 1, 1963, in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, California, Willie was a cherished son to Willie Charles and Shirley Jean Hendrix, both of whom predeceased him.
Willie's life was a testament to kindness, loyalty, and love. A man of faith, he was an active member of the Faithful Central Bible Church, where his spirit found fellowship and peace. Known to many simply as "Will," he carried a gentle demeanor and an open heart, characteristics that endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A proud alumnus of various schools across Los Angeles, Willie applied his education to a career as a dedicated security officer, serving various companies throughout his life. His work was a testament to his steadfast commitment to the well-being and safety of others, a hallmark of his professional life that mirrored his personal values.
On June 28, 1991, Willie married the love of his life, Jeannette Johnson, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey together that spanned 35 years. Their union was a beacon of love and mutual respect, and though they had no children of their own, Willie embraced his role as a stepfather to Joshua Scott with immense pride and love.
Willie's passions extended beyond his family and faith. He was an avid sports enthusiast, possessing an encyclopedic knowledge of his favorite teams. The San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Los Angeles Dodgers formed a trinity of sports passion that brought him great joy. Whether cheering from the stands or the comfort of his living room, his enthusiasm was infectious, drawing friends and family into lively discussions and shared moments of triumph and defeat.
Willie was predeceased by his beloved parents, Willie Charles and Shirley Jean, his brother Reginald Hendrix, and his sister Angela Peoples. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Jeannette, stepson Joshua Scott, and a host of family and friends who will forever cherish his memory and miss his presence profoundly.
A service to celebrate Willie's life will be held on May 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the House of Winston Mortuary, located at 9501 S Vermont Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90044. We invite all those who knew and loved Willie to join us in honoring his life and legacy.
