William Weldon Mackey

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of William Weldon Mackey, affectionately known as "Billy Booker," who departed this world on May 29, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on October 27, 1958, in Austin, Texas, William was the beloved son of Barbara Ann Mackey and William Weldon Booker, both of whom preceded him in death. Throughout his life, William embodied the spirit of joy and resilience. He was a man whose presence brought warmth and laughter to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though life presented him with trials, including the heartbreaking loss of his cherished children, Asha and Allen, and his beloved life partner, Betty, William's strength and love never wavered. William's legacy is carried forward by his loving son, Anthony Williams, and his dear children, Trevon, Terrence, and Daveedra. He is also survived by his devoted siblings, sisters Classie, Janice, JoNell, Justina, Diana, Roshell, and Rhonda, as well as his brothers William Jr. and Rodney. His extended family includes a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins, each of whom held a special place in his heart. A man of simple pleasures, William found joy in the beauty of everyday life. Known for his infectious smile and boundless enthusiasm, he was a beacon of positivity and a testament to the power of embracing life with open arms. Friends and family are invited to celebrate William's life on June 12, 2026, at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown, Texas. The service will commence at 9:00 AM, offering a moment to reflect on the love and light William shared with the world. As we gather to honor William's memory, let us remember his unwavering love for his family and his zest for life. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
