June 26, 1960 — April 4, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William Thomas Baker Jr., fondly known as "Tommy" to those who knew and loved him. Born on June 26, 1960, in Baltimore, MD, Tommy departed this world on April 4, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness. His journey was marked by strength, resilience, and an unyielding spirit that inspired all who had the privilege of crossing his path. Tommy was the cherished son of the late William Thomas Baker Sr. and Pauline Davis. He was predeceased by his beloved siblings, Lorraine McQueen and Roy Baker, and his precious baby daughter, Ebony Baker. He has now joined them in eternal peace, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth that will forever resonate in the hearts of his surviving family. He leaves to mourn his loss and celebrate his life, his devoted children: Darrell Tavon Baker, Kendall Thomas Baker, and Stephon William Baker. Tommy was a proud grandfather, deeply cherished by his grandchildren: Reniyah Baker, Kamya Taliyah Baker, Dierra Baker, Dorian Baker, Eva Ilana Baker, Kendall Thomas Baker Jr., and Noelle Khaleesi Baker. His great-grandchildren, Le'lani Marnae Baker and Le'yana Larai Baker, will carry forward the light he shone in their young lives. He reunites in heaven with his granddaughter, Kaliyah Tamya Baker. The Most High blessed Tommy with the love and companionship of Octavia Jefferson and Lisa Brown, both of whom he held dear. His relocation to Winston Salem brought into his life Sharon, a special friend who provided solace and joy in his later years. Tommy's formative years were spent in the Baltimore City School system, where he created lasting memories with his siblings, Peaches and Donnie. His education was a foundation for a life filled with learning, exploration, and the sharing of wisdom with those around him. A celebration of Tommy's life will be held on April 19, 2026, at 5:00 PM at the Renew Clubhouse in White Marsh, MD. This gathering is a tribute to a life wonderfully lived, a time for friends and family to share stories, laughter, and remembrance. Though we say goodbye for now, we honor a love that will never fade. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for the many acts of love, kindness, sympathy, and prayers received during this time of bereavement. Tommy's legacy of compassion and strength lives on in all who knew him. In his memory, let us continue to spread the kindness and warmth he embodied throughout his life. Rest in peace, dear Tommy. Your spirit will forever guide and illuminate our paths.
