William Robert Binns Jr

It is with profound sadness and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of William Robert Binns Jr., who left us peacefully at the Compassion Home in Fremont, Michigan, after a lengthy illness. Born on June 6, 1961, in Muskegon, Michigan, Bill lived a life marked by service, devotion, and artistry until his departure on July 30, 2026. Bill was the beloved son of the late William Robert Binns Sr. and Shirley Ann Binns. He was predeceased by his cherished wife, Jan Haggerty Binns, as well as his nieces, Kelly Jo Kies,Dawn Binns, and his brothers, Joseph W. Binns and David A. Binns. He is survived by his loving son, Cody (Claire) Binns, and his treasured grandchildren, Eloise, Winnie, and Maverick. Bill als is survived by his sisters, Karla (Dan) Kies and Christiene Binns Beckley, the following nieces and nephews are, Scott (Cherie)Tibbe, Sara Tibbe, Danelle(Johnny)Golden,Christy(David)LaClear,Jenna Binns, Darcie(Mike)Witte, Mary(Marcus) Dallo, David Binns Jr and Shawnee(Josh) Piela. Bill's formative years were spent in Hesperia, Michigan. Although he left school before graduation, his determination and resilience led him to earn his GED while serving in the United States Navy. Bill's military service was a source of great pride; he served as a rescue swimmer and electric equipment repairman during the Gulf War on the USS Bainbridge. A touching pinning ceremony in honor of his service was held shortly before his passing, attended by his family who deeply appreciated his dedication to his country. Following his military service, Bill worked in maintenance at Howard Miller. However, his true passion lay in his theological pursuits. He held a pastoral license and a certificate in Theology, with a lifelong dream to travel and preach the Bible. Bill was well-regarded for his deep knowledge of the Bible and theological matters, often engaging in Bible study and discussions on End Times Theology. An artist at heart, Bill's creativity shone through his intricate carvings, many of which depicted horses that he and Jan loved so dearly. These handcrafted pieces remain cherished gifts among his family, serving as a testament to his artistic talent and loving nature. A luncheon to honor Bill's life will be held on August 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Hesperia American Legion post 411, located at 4075 S. 198th Ave, Hesperia, MI. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Newaygo County Compassion Home, whose staff provided compassionate care for Bill in his final days, and Harbor Hospice of Michigan. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Newaygo County Compassion Home and the wonderful staff members who cared for Bill with tenderness and dedication. The family is also deeply thankful to Harbor Hospice of Michigan for their support. William Robert Binns Jr. will be remembered as a devoted man of faith, a proud veteran, a passionate preacher, and a gifted artist. His legacy of kindness, faith, and love will continue to inspire all who knew him.
