William S. Redell

September 10, 1960 — July 17, 2026

William Redell, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on September 10, 1960, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, William's life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and love for his family and community. He was the cherished son of Jenny Thomas and William Redell Sr., both of whom preceded him in death. William carried forward the values instilled in him by his parents and passed them along to his children, William and Marissia Howard, who survive him and continue to honor his legacy. A proud graduate of Greenville High School, Class of 1979, William was known for his tenacity and strong work ethic. His career took him to the demanding yet rewarding world of the Mississippi oil rigs, where he thrived. Later, he found fulfillment and camaraderie working at Uncle Ben’s Rice, where he eventually retired. These experiences not only provided for his family but also shaped the man he was—resilient, generous, and deeply committed to his loved ones. William’s passion for fishing and carpentry were more than just hobbies; they were ways he connected with the world and the people around him. Whether casting a line on a tranquil morning or crafting a piece of furniture, William found joy and peace in these pursuits. His grandchildren, who number six, were often the lucky recipients of his beautifully handcrafted gifts and tales of the one that got away. Though his passing leaves a void, the warmth of his memory and the love he shared with family and friends remain. William's life was a beacon of kindness and generosity, qualities he instilled in his children and grandchildren. His legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor William's wishes. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in remembrance of William's generous spirit. William Redell's heart was as vast as the open waters he loved to fish, and his life was a testament to the beauty of simple joys and steadfast love. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
