William “Marty” Adams

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William “Marty”Adams, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. Born on March 8, 1938, in Brattleboro, Marty left this world peacefully at his home on August 5, 2026, surrounded by his beloved family. Marty was the son of John and Maxine Adams. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, where he honorably served and was stationed in Hawaii, Japan, and California. His military service was a testament to his unwavering dedication and love for his country. In 1967, Marty married Margaret "Peggy" Lyons. Together, they created a warm and loving home for their four beautiful daughters. Marty and Peggy shared a life filled with many cherished memories created during their 41 years of marriage until Peggy's passing. For the past 15 years, Marty found companionship and love with his partner, Roberta Parsons, who brought joy and comfort to his life. They enjoyed vacations, bowling, and most importantly each other’s companionship. Marty was a master craftsman, known for his incredible skills in drywall and carpentry. His work was admired throughout the community, and his dedication to his craft was evident in every project he completed. Most notably, all of the beautiful work he did in the family home on Frost Street, where he spent the past 60 years. His legacy of hard work and craftsmanship will be remembered and respected by many. Beyond his professional endeavors, Marty was an avid bowler well into his 80s. He found joy in fishing, playing golf, and, most importantly, spending time with his family. His love for his family was unparalleled, and he was known for his incredible sense of humor, his gentle, loving nature, and his love of candy. Marty was predeceased by his beloved wife, Peggy, and his daughter, Erin Clark. He is survived by his three daughters, Bridget Pillsbury, Marta Adams, and Jessica Adams; his partner, Roberta Parsons; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. In honor of Marty’s memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice. They also extend their heartfelt gratitude to Bayada Hospice and all the wonderful nurses and caregivers who provided compassion and care during Marty’s final days. Marty’s legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him. His laughter, kindness, and love for life will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
