William Parker Jr.

October 30, 1943 — May 7, 2026

In loving memory of William Parker Jr., a devoted family man, a steadfast friend, and a cherished member of the community, who peacefully departed this world on May 7, 2026, at the age of 83. His journey began on October 30, 1943, in the heart of Toledo, Ohio, where he was born to Virginia and James Parker. William's early years were spent in Toledo, where he laid the foundations of a life characterized by loyalty and dedication. A proud alumnus of Scott High School, William embodied the spirit of a true bulldog—tenacious and unwavering. His commitment to service led him to the U.S. Army, where he honorably served his country as a Vietnam veteran, an experience that shaped his life with resilience and a profound sense of duty. Following his military service, William embarked on a long and fulfilling career at the Ford Motor Company. For 32 years, he worked diligently as a die setter, contributing to the automobile manufacturing industry with the same steadfastness that he applied to every aspect of his life. His work ethic and dedication were admired by colleagues and friends alike. Faith was a cornerstone for William, who found spiritual fulfillment at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church for over three decades. Under the guidance of Reverend Floyd Smith, Jr., he embraced his faith with an open heart and a joyful spirit, becoming a pillar of support within his church community. William's personal life was marked by the love and companionship of his beloved wife, Margaret Parker, with whom he shared 36 wonderful years. Together, they built a family that was a source of immense pride and joy. He is survived by his loving sister, Katherine Parker; his devoted children, Tresea Parker, Ramon Parker, Chevelle Battle, and Harrison (Alisa) Hilliard. His legacy of love and laughter lives on through his 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the warmth and wisdom of their dear grandpa. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Virginia Parker, and his siblings, James, Matthew, Robert, and Polly, with whom he now rests in eternal peace. Though the world feels a little less bright without William's presence, his legacy of kindness, courage, and commitment will continue to inspire those who knew him. He loved life and embraced every moment with gratitude and grace, a lesson he imparted to his family and friends. Services to honor and celebrate William's life will be held privately. Family and close friends will gather to pay their respects on May 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Dale-Riggs Funeral Home, located at 572 Nebraska Avenue, Toledo, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in William's memory to a veteran's charity of your choice, reflecting his enduring commitment to service and community. William Parker Jr. will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love him. May he rest in peace, embraced by the love of the Lord he so faithfully served.
