In Loving Memory

William O Dixon
September 10, 1943 — October 1, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William O. Dixon on October 1, 2026 in Seymour, Indiana. Born on September 10, 1943, in Springfield, Ohio, William, affectionately known as Bill, lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to his family.
Bill was the beloved husband of Alice Fitzgerald Dixon, with whom he shared an enduring marriage of over 64 years, having wed on May 5, 1962. Their love story was one of unwavering devotion and partnership, serving as a testament to the power of love and commitment.
A proud alumnus of Northeastern High School, class of 1961, Bill carried the lessons he learned there throughout his life. His career began in the humble role of a butcher, where he developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the value of honest labor. He later transitioned to a long and successful career in restaurant management, where his quiet leadership and generous spirit left a lasting impact on colleagues and patrons alike.
Bill was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in cheering for his favorite sports teams, the Cleveland Browns and the Cincinnati Reds. His passion for these teams was matched only by his dedication to his family, whom he cherished above all else.
Bill leaves behind a loving family, including his children, William B. Dixon (Elizabeth), Dori Dixon Baughman (James), and Michael A. Dixon (Rachel). He was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren: Lauren Baughman, Caitlin Baughman Hamilton (Joshua), Brianna Dixon, Zachery Dixon, Samuel Dixon, Evet Dixon, and Emelia Dixon. His legacy of love and generosity will live on through them.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert W and Pauline Prince Dixon. And his beloved brothers Ronald and James.
Those who knew Bill will remember him as a quiet, mischievous soul with a humble heart and a generous spirit. He touched the lives of everyone he met with his loving nature, leaving a lasting impression that will be cherished forever.
