William was born on December 18, 1948, in the charming town of Mt. Airy, North Carolina, a place he always called home. William, or "Bill" as he was affectionately known, was the beloved son of the late Coy Edward Ratcliff and Kate Pack Ratcliff, whose enduring love and values he carried with him throughout his life. Predeceased by his cherished parents, Bill now joins them in eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and kindness. Bill's life was a testament to hard work and dedication. His career with Pike Electric spoke volumes of his commitment and skill, traits that earned him respect and admiration from colleagues and friends alike. Even after retirement, his industrious spirit led him to serve at the Surry County Land Fill, where he continued to make a difference in his community. Family was the cornerstone of Bill's life. He was a devoted brother to his sister, Brenda Atkins, and a loving father to his four children: Lorie Harding, Rhonda Cooper and her husband Stanley, William Jr. Ratcliff and his wife Tina, and Chase Ratcliff. His pride and joy extended to his eight grandchildren: Samantha Bosley, Patrick Denbow, Tyler Denbow, Robert Cooper, Krista Price, Shane Price, Kevin Ratcliff, and Reed Ratcliff, each of whom he cherished deeply. Bill's legacy lives on through his five great-grandchildren: James, Paisley, Kevin, Camryn, and Carson. Their lives will forever be touched by the warmth and wisdom of their great-grandfather. A man of quiet strength and great humility, Bill's greatest joy was found in the simple pleasures of life—spending time with family, sharing stories, and offering a helping hand to those in need. His gentle spirit and unwavering love left an indelible mark on all who knew him. As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we celebrate the life of William Lankford Ratcliff—a life filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories.
