In Loving Memory of William Kennedy Shindoll
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved William "Billy" Kennedy Shindoll, who departed this world on March 21, 2026, at the tender age of 31. Born on January 5, 1995, in the charming town of Davenport, Iowa, Billy was a beacon of light and love to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Billy was the cherished son of Steven and Bonnie (Burr) Shindoll, who raised him with love and instilled in him the values that would guide him throughout his life. Although his path has taken him to join his predeceased grandparents, Patrick and Mary Burr, his uncle Thomas Burr, and his adored friend Desarie, his spirit remains ever-present in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Survived by his devoted parents, Steven and Bonnie, Billy's legacy is carried forth by his loving family, including his brothers and sisters: Steven Shindoll, David Farrell, Jason, Alex, Aron, and Ashley. His spirit of joy and generosity is fondly remembered by his niece and nephew, Adrianna and Kaden. Billy also leaves behind his uncles, Pat, Bob, and Bill, as well as his grandparents, Charlie and Bonnie, who held a special place in his heart.
Billy's heart overflowed with love, particularly for the children he held dear at heart—Jacqueline, Everlee, Maeda, Blake, and Madison—who brought him unparalleled joy and enriched his life in countless ways.
His educational journey took him through the schools of Hudson and Waterloo in Iowa, culminating in Irving, Texas, where he graduated with honor and pride. Billy's work life was marked by dedication and satisfaction, as seen through his employment with Arby's Restaurants and the Waterloo Warehouse. Perhaps one of his greatest joys was operating the snow plow, a testament to his love for machinery, which brought him a profound sense of fulfillment.
Billy had a remarkable ability to find happiness in the simplest of moments. Whether it was swimming in the lake, spending time with his brothers, or cooking with the children he loved, his life was a celebration of joy and togetherness. Known for his spontaneous bursts of song and dance, Billy had an infectious spirit that could brighten any room. His selfless heart knew no bounds, as he was always ready to share whatever he had to lift the spirits of those around him.
The family invites you to join them in celebrating Billy's life on April 4, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at the Salvation Army Chapel, located at 89 Franklin Street, Waterloo, Iowa. As we gather to honor Billy's life, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives and the love he shared so freely.
Billy's passing leaves a void that can never be filled, yet his legacy of love, compassion, and joy will continue to inspire all who knew him. As we say our final goodbyes, we hold onto the precious memories he gave us and the indelible mark he left on our hearts. May his soul find peace, and may his spirit continue to dance among the stars.
