William John Bjorklund
November 2, 1932 — May 9, 2026
It is with heavy hearts yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of William John Bjorklund. William peacefully departed from this world on May 9, 2026, at the age of 93 in Mesa, Arizona, where he spent his later years.
Born to Delbert and Florence Bjorklund, in Winthrop Mn. on November 2, 1932 . He was predeceased by his beloved parents, his brother John Bjorklund, sisters- in -law Delores Scott and Muriel Gag and Grandson, Michael Storvick.
William is survived by his wife, Iola. Together they raised 5 children.Sons ;William, Jr., Michael(Jackie) and Patrick, along with daughters ;Geri Storvick and Susan (Mark) Karl.
Grandchildren; Mathew(Erin)Storvick, Mark(Alyssa)Storvick, Megan(Clint)Weckwert, Cody Upcraft, Bridger Bjorklund, Mary Bjorklund and Cheyenne(Colton) Sanders.
Great Grandchildren; Oliver,Harper and Winnie Storvick, Violet ,Avery Weckwerth, Jackson,Kinsley Storvick and Kaylee Sanders.
Brother Dave (Mary) Bjorklund , sister- in- law Sheila Bjorklund and brother- in law Jim Scott.Many Nieces and Nephews.
William Graduated from Mankato state with a degree in teaching and later went back to earn his Masters in Education Administration. His career started out teaching Biology in Russell, Mn. and Saint Clair, Mn., where he was also a football coach. Principal in West Concord Mn. Superintendent in Glenville, Mn. and Morgan, Mn.
Throughout his life, William was known for his love of the great outdoors. His happy place was out on a boat fishing on Mille Lacs Lake, where he started going as a young boy. Walking through the fields looking for pheasants or out on a golf course hitting a golf ball.
Beyond his hobbies, he was very passionate about being a member of the Lion’s club both in Minnesota and Arizona.
There will be a celebration of life with family at a later date.
