William Jerry Bundy
January 3, 1945 — April 18, 2026
William Jerry Bundy, known fondly as Jerry, passed away on April 18, 2026, at the age of 81, in the loving embrace of his family. Born on January 3, 1945, in the heartland of Oklahoma, he departed this world suddenly, sitting peacefully in his favorite recliner, surrounded by the love of his life, Brenda, and their cherished daughter. Through this gentle passage, Jerry left behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a life well-lived.
Jerry was the beloved son of Hyram Bundy and Katie Mae Hancock, who instilled in him the values of kindness and resilience. He was predeceased by his dear brothers, George and Steve Bundy, his mother Katie Mae, his Uncle William Hancock, and cousin Jolene, who all undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms in the great beyond.
Married to Brenda Campbell on April 18, 1986, Jerry and Brenda shared an unbreakable bond for 40 glorious years, a testament to their enduring love and partnership. Together, they raised two wonderful daughters, Julie and Christy Bundy, who were the pride and joy of Jerry's life. His spirit and warmth live on in them, as well as in his sister-in-law, Anna Bundy, his cousin Mike Hancock, and his nieces and nephews: Keith Bundy, Monica Perry, Greg Bundy, and Brandi Bundy. Jerry's circle extended wide, and his many close friends will deeply miss his joyful presence.
Jerry proudly served his country as a Marine, embodying the courage and discipline that he carried throughout his life. His career as a professional truck salesman at Southland International spanned decades, during which he transformed customers into lifelong friends with his charismatic personality and unwavering dedication.
A man of many passions, Jerry was a fifth-degree Mason, a testament to his commitment to community and brotherhood. His love for the outdoors was unparalleled; he found solace in the serenity of the ocean, the joy of sailing, and the simple pleasure of tending to his garden. Jerry's yard was a canvas, painted with the vibrant colors of his favorite flowers, reflecting his zest for life.
Jerry's hallmark was his infectious optimism. He viewed life as a precious gift, always joking and spreading smiles wherever he went. He had a remarkable ability to lift spirits with a simple, light-hearted quip, often asking, "Ain't I pretty?"—a phrase that encapsulated his playful spirit and genuine love for making others happy.
A service to celebrate Jerry's life will be held on April 25, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Wellspring Worship Center Assemblies of God, located at 1433 Vivian St, Leeds, AL 35094. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Jerry's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital, an organization close to his heart.
The Bundy family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported them during this difficult time. They invite everyone who knew Jerry to honor his memory by cherishing each moment and spreading joy, just as he did.
As we remember Jerry, let us smile and celebrate the light he brought into our lives. He will forever be missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
