William J. Jackson, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Born on April 17, 1942, in the vibrant city of New Orleans, William's life was a testament to love, service, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.
William was the cherished son of Joseph and Mrs. Jackson. He was reunited in eternal rest with his parents, his beloved wife Paula, his son Kelly D. Jackson, and his brothers Joe, Emile, Earl, Michael, and Ronald. Despite the profound losses he endured, William remained a beacon of strength and resilience for his family.
He graduated from Booker T. Washington and went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Army. Following his military service, William dedicated himself to a fulfilling career at Charity Hospital, where he worked diligently until his retirement after 2005. His commitment to his work was matched only by his love for his family and community.
William was married to the love of his life, Paula Jackson, for 13 wonderful years. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter. He is survived by his son Ramon Jackson Sr., his adopted daughter Chantrell Clements, and his cherished grandsons, Ramon Jackson Jr. and Anthony McCann Jr. William was also a proud great-grandfather to Alexander McCann, Aaliyah McCann, and Ezra Jackson. His legacy of kindness and compassion will continue through them.
William's life was enriched by the companionship of his four devoted sisters, Sandra Juluke, Linda Ambrose, Beanie, and Eunice, along with his brothers Chris and Kenneth. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and family friends also mourn his passing, each touched by his warmth and generosity.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate William's life on September 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the family home located at 5173 Western Street, New Orleans, LA 70122. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of their choice, in honor of William's commitment to helping others.
