William Handshaw

August 8, 1966 — October 5, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of William Handshaw on October 5, 2026. Born on August 8, 1966, in the quaint town of Lake City, South Carolina, William was a beacon of warmth and kindness who touched the lives of everyone he met. William was the beloved son of the late James and Mary Handshaw. Growing up in a loving family, he learned the values of hard work and compassion, which he carried with him throughout his life. He shared these values with his cherished spouse, Elizabeth, and their children, Tommy and Amy Thomas. A devoted family man, William took immense pride in his seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, whose laughter and joy were the lights of his life. His grandchildren, Angel and Ginnye Cameron, and his brother, John Doe, will fondly remember the time spent together, filled with laughter and love. William's passion for watching television and gardening brought him much joy and solace. He found peace in the simple pleasures of tending to his garden, nurturing life, and creating beauty for all to enjoy. His love for nature was a reflection of his nurturing spirit and gentle soul. Surrounded by the love and friendship of many, William's life was enriched by the companionship of close friends Helen Dimery and Ratstine Ashburn. Their friendship was a testament to his genuine and caring nature, always ready with a kind word and an open heart. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff who provided care and support during William's final days. Their kindness and dedication brought comfort and peace to William and his family. In honor of William's generous spirit, those wishing to make a donation may contribute to a charity of their choice.
