It is with profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of William George Hilton on October 8, 2026, at the age of 94. William slipped away with grace at Ajax Pickering Hospital, embraced by his loving family. Born on December 16, 1931, in S. John's, Quebec, William was the beloved son of the late Jack and Isabel Hilton. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Jack, and his sister Doreen. William is survived by his devoted wife of 71 years, Doris May (née Gatenby), whose love and companionship were his life's greatest treasures. Together, they built a beautiful family and a lasting legacy of love. William's life was enriched by his cherished children: William, David, and Janet, who have been the pride of his life. He was a treasured grandfather to six grandchildren: Ken, Grace, Sarah, Rachel, Alex, and Karoline, who brought immense joy and laughter into his world. William is also survived by his loving brother, Richard. A man of remarkable intelligence and skill, William graduated from Danforth Tech with a specialization in Architectural Drafting. His career saw him flourish with several architectural firms until he joined Cadillac Development Corporation in 1963, which later became Cadillac Fairview Corporation. His dedication and hard work led him to the esteemed position of Vice-President, from which he retired in 1981. His passion for service continued as he became the executive director of the Ontario Handgun Association from 1984 to 1989. William was an active member of the East York Revolver Club for over 45 years, where he served on the executive committee and pursued his interest in handgun target shooting. His participation in local, provincial, and national competitions was a testament to his dedication and skill. Those who knew William will remember his extraordinary ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued. His generosity touched countless lives, and his warm spirit was a beacon of kindness and compassion. A memorial service to celebrate William's life will be held on October 23, 2026, at 12:00 PM at McEachnie Funeral Home, located at 28 Old Kingston Rd., Ajax, Ontario, L1T 2Z7. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in William's memory to a charity of your choice. The Hilton family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Amica Pickering for their compassionate care and support. William George Hilton was a man of extraordinary kindness, integrity, and love. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
